New developments in the artificial turf industry

dry_football_court.jpgThe artificial green isn´t in its infancy anymore, just as well as a broad acceptance of the public could be achieved. Present developments in the market of artificial turf show a shift in frequency of use as well as an extension of application areas.

The cost reduction regarding artificial turf in relation to the natural grass – concerning installation as well as maintenance - is an important reason for the worldwide increase in growth of the artificial turf-sector of approximately 25%.*Furthermore the market action is driven by *technological requirements and innovations as well as by an iincreasing range of products. A rapid development is remarkable in the equipment sector, just like the application of new synthetic resins and additives contributes to advanced turf conditions.

The use of artificial turf is encouraged by international sports organisations – for example UEFA and FIFA – with the artificial green offering an enormous advantage especially in dryer countries with lower water availability. Therefore the Fédération Internationale de Football Association decided the World Championship 2010 in South Africa shall be played solely on artificial turf.
High growth rates are expected also for the private use of artificial turf. Such application areas – especially for fall and step protection – can be the own gardens, roofs, areas surrounding swimming pools, as well as play- and sportsgrounds.
